Today’s Fxshnjunke Spotlight features 24 year old Seattle, Washington native Sarah Shropshire. Sarah is a blogger and recent graduate of Marymount Manhattan College in NY who loves to express herself through all types and forms of ART whether it’s through photography, colors, space, nature or light. So take a deep breath and lets go on a spirit journey !

Dasia: Tell me something about yourself?

Sarah: Well, my first instinct is to tell you my zodiac sign–I am a Virgo. In other words, I can be very analytical and reserved and a perfectionist which drives me crazy. However,  when I am in my element (creating), I can be quite the opposite of my sign. I love my friends and family; they are my biggest and best supporters. I also love meeting new people. I think humans are the most interesting creatures and have so much to offer, even if it’s just in a short conversation. As naïve as it sounds, I try to see beauty in everything. I believe that even in tough and maybe heart-wrenching situations, something beautiful will come about. The aftermath could be a lesson learned or unexpectedly perfect outcome you were looking for. I love art and all of its forms. I am inspired by light, shapes, colors, lines and weirdness as strange as that sounds. I like to look and create things out of the ordinary.

Dasia: How long have you been a blogger?

Sarah: Since late October 2016

Dasia: What do you like most about blogging?

Sarah: I like that it gives me a creative outlet. I can do, say and create whatever I want; I think that’s power. I also love the creative process of setting up a shoot. What I am going to wear, how I will pose, what I want to highlight, where I’m going to shoot, etc.

Dasia: When it comes to art, how do you like to express your visions ?

Sarah: In terms of mediums, I enjoy working with graphite. I’m not very good at coming up with completely though-out visions of something completely new but rather, I am inspired by a number of different things: nature, architecture, textures, colors, space and light.

Dasia: I loooove how clean your IG is, what is the key of having a theme for your Instagram?

Sarah: Thank you! I think the key to having a theme is planning before you shoot and being consistent. Also, don’t post just to post. Post with a purpose. I think execution is key as well; making sure what you are putting out there is quality.

Dasia: What are some great cameras to use for beginner bloggers?

Sarah: Hahaha I’m still trying to figure that out. I use my Nikon D1500. It works for now but it unfortunately does not have wifi. Not having wifi, believe it or not is a huge inconvenience for me. For starting bloggers, I personally think you can even use your iPhone but if you’re going to use just an iPhone, make sure the quality is good. I know the iPhone 7 has a pretty dope focus!

Dasia: Favorite places to shop ?

Sarah: If you follow my blog…you know that by far H&M is my “go to.” I’m pretty sure I’ve accumulated enough to own a mini store. I also shop at Forever 21, Zara, Top Shop, American Apparel, ASOS, Target, Goodwill, and Nordstrom.

Dasia: Lol a mini store ! That sounds like ALOT of clothes ! What are your favorite fall trends?

Sarah: Fall for me is all about natural colors. I really enjoyed wearing burnt oranges, yellows, mustards, browns. Colors that can be found in nature always seem to be in trend during the fall season. I like velvet and nude colors for lipstick colors specifically.

Dasia: You recently graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in NY, with a B.A in Communication Arts and minor in Studio Arts, Congrats ! What kind of career(s) where you looking to pursue ?

Sarah: Thank you. That’s a great question! I’m still on the career hunt. I would love to be doing something creative in advertising and marketing. My dream job would be being able to do something creative from a computer aka being able to work anywhere. I would also like to be my own boss. At the moment, I am all over the place but I’m embracing the journey as hard and scary as it is…

Dasia: What did you like most about going to school in NY?

Sarah: I loved the diversity. When in the city, you are completely surrounded by different cultures, languages, traditions etc. It was a very educational and eye opening experience. I learned a lot about myself and others. Plus, there is ALWAYS something to do!

Dasia: You also interned at the Rachel Ray show, how was that experience?

Sarah: This internship was AMAZING! I learned so much and it actually helped me pursue blogging. I was an art/production intern in which I was in charge of helping make the set and props “look pretty.” This internship helped me land some freelance work as well. I think I’ve incorporated a lot of what I’ve learn over to my blog and Instagram. I like to think I’m good at placing things and setting up a shoot, scene or scenario.

Dasia: Have you heard about or seen Fxshnjunke before? If not, what are your thoughts?

Sarah: I stumbled upon it on Instagram. I like that it showcases bloggers of all kinds and does not stick to a specific “look” – reaching bloggers of all kinds.

Dasia: What are some of your goals for 2017?

Sarah: I would like to blog more and be more consistent with it. I want to travel as much as my bank account will afford me to and I want to embrace and go after any opportunity that will help/grow my blog and life in general.

Dasia : here do you see yourself in the next 5 years ?

Sarah: Happy and doing what I love!
